FAQ

Understanding Hair Loss and Suitability

What types of hair loss conditions are suitable for non-surgical hair replacement systems?

Non-surgical hair replacement systems are suitable for most types of hair loss, including thinning, partial loss, and complete hair loss across the scalp. This includes conditions such as alopecia areata, female pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia), telogen effluvium, trichotillomania, and hair loss related to menopause, chemotherapy, or other medical treatments.

Because the systems are non-invasive and customised to each client, they are especially well-suited to individuals looking for a discreet, restorative solution without surgery or pharmaceutical intervention. However, in order to ensure a safe and secure fit, we are unable to proceed with application if the scalp is inflamed or infected, or if there is broken skin that has not properly healed. In such cases, we would always recommend allowing the scalp to recover before moving forward with any fitting.

Our free consultation process allows us to assess your scalp condition, discuss your needs, and determine the most appropriate solution for you.

Are these systems appropriate for both men and women?

At London Hair System, our focus is specifically on providing bespoke, non-surgical hair replacement solutions for women experiencing hair loss. While hair systems in general can be suitable for both men and women, our expertise, design approach, and styling services are tailored entirely around female hair loss patterns and styling preferences.

Whether the hair loss is diffuse or patchy, sudden or gradual, we work closely with each client to create a natural-looking, comfortable solution that restores confidence and complements their lifestyle. For male clients seeking hair replacement systems, we recommend seeking a provider who specialises in men’s hair loss, as their needs and solutions often differ.

Are non-surgical hair replacement systems suitable for individuals with trichotillomania?

Yes, our systems are often an effective option for individuals living with trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling). In fact, many clients with this condition find that wearing a system not only helps restore their appearance, but also acts as a physical barrier that can reduce the urge or ability to pull in affected areas.

Each system is customised to accommodate the pattern and extent of hair loss, whether the pulling is focused in specific areas or more widespread. As always, it’s essential that the scalp is in a healthy condition — without open wounds, infection, or active inflammation — before fitting a system.

We understand the emotional and psychological challenges associated with trichotillomania, and we approach every consultation with discretion, compassion, and respect.

Can I use topical treatments, such as minoxidil, while wearing the system?

In most cases, topical treatments like minoxidil — which are designed to stimulate hair growth — are not compatible with wearing a fitted hair replacement system. This is because the system covers the scalp, making it difficult for the treatment to be applied effectively, and it may also interfere with the attachment or hygiene of the system.

If you are currently using or considering a topical treatment, it’s important to discuss this during your consultation. We can help you weigh the benefits of continuing with medical approaches versus choosing a cosmetic solution, depending on your goals and scalp condition.

Please note: we do not offer medical advice. If you are unsure about the suitability of a treatment such as minoxidil, or are under the care of a dermatologist or GP, we recommend seeking their professional guidance before making any changes to your routine.

Will the system accommodate hair regrowth underneath?

Yes, our systems are designed to sit comfortably over your scalp and can accommodate natural hair regrowth underneath. In fact, many clients experience periods of regrowth while wearing the system, particularly if their hair loss is temporary or linked to a reversible condition such as stress, hormonal changes, or medical treatment.

The system does not prevent hair from growing, but regular maintenance is important. As your natural hair changes — whether it grows, sheds, or changes texture — we adjust the system during your scheduled appointments to ensure it continues to fit securely and blend seamlessly.

During your consultation, we’ll discuss the nature of your hair loss and what to expect in terms of regrowth, so we can tailor the system accordingly.

Who is an ideal candidate for a non-surgical hair replacement system?

An ideal candidate is anyone experiencing hair loss — whether patchy, thinning, or complete — who is looking for a non-surgical, non-medical solution that restores the appearance of natural hair. Our systems are suitable for many different types of hair loss, including conditions such as alopecia areata, female pattern hair loss, telogen effluvium, trichotillomania, or loss following medical treatment.

You don’t need to have a specific diagnosis, and you don’t need a full head of hair. However, your scalp must be in good condition — free from active infection, inflammation, or unhealed skin — in order for us to proceed safely with fitting.

We’ll assess your suitability during a private consultation, where we can explore the best approach based on your needs and circumstances. Please note: London Hair System is a specialist service for women only.

Are there any medical conditions that would prevent me from using the system?

In most cases, our systems are suitable for women experiencing hair loss from a wide range of medical or non-medical causes. However, we cannot proceed with a fitting if the scalp is actively inflamed, infected, or has broken or unhealed skin, as this can interfere with safe application and may worsen the condition.

Certain dermatological conditions — such as untreated scalp infections, severe psoriasis, or open wounds — may need to be addressed by a medical professional before a system can be safely fitted. If you are unsure whether your condition is suitable, we recommend booking a consultation so we can assess your scalp and provide guidance.

If necessary, we may suggest delaying the fitting until the scalp is in a healthy condition and, where appropriate, refer you to seek medical advice.

Is there an age limit for individuals considering the system?

There is no fixed upper or lower age limit, but our service is intended for adult women. We regularly work with clients across a wide age range — from women in their twenties experiencing early-onset hair loss, to older clients managing age-related thinning.

The most important factor is not age, but the condition of your scalp and the type of hair loss you are experiencing. As long as your scalp is healthy and your expectations are realistic, we can usually offer a solution that fits your needs and lifestyle.

If you’re unsure whether our system is right for you, we invite you to book a consultation to discuss your individual situation in confidence.

Can individuals with sensitive scalps or skin conditions use the system?

Many clients with sensitive scalps are able to wear our systems comfortably, as we use soft, breathable materials designed to minimise irritation. However, if you have a pre-existing skin condition — such as eczema, dermatitis, or psoriasis — we’ll need to assess the current state of your scalp before proceeding.

If the skin is inflamed, broken, or actively reacting, we would recommend delaying fitting until the area has healed and is stable. In some cases, we may suggest seeking medical advice or treatment before moving forward, to ensure the system can be worn safely and comfortably.

We take a personalised, cautious approach to all fittings involving scalp sensitivity and will always prioritise your health, wellbeing and comfort.

Is the system suitable for those experiencing temporary hair loss?

Yes, non-surgical hair replacement systems can be an excellent option for women experiencing temporary hair loss due to stress, hormonal changes, post-pregnancy shedding, or medical treatments such as chemotherapy.

Because the system is fully reversible and does not interfere with natural hair growth, it provides a safe and confidence-boosting solution while your hair recovers. It can be worn during the regrowth phase and adjusted as your natural hair returns.

We’ll always assess your situation individually and discuss the best timing for fitting — especially if your hair loss is expected to stabilise or reverse over time.

Can the system be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Yes, the system can be safely worn during both pregnancy and breastfeeding. Because it is a non-surgical, non-medical solution, it does not interfere with your body or require any pharmaceutical products or procedures.

In fact, many women choose to explore hair replacement systems during or after pregnancy, as this can be a time when hormonal changes lead to noticeable thinning or shedding. The system offers a gentle and effective way to manage these changes without affecting your health or that of your baby.

As always, we’ll ensure your scalp is healthy and that you feel comfortable with the timing and fit before proceeding.

Are there any lifestyle factors that might affect the suitability of the system?

Most everyday lifestyles are fully compatible with wearing a hair replacement system. Whether you work in a professional environment, lead an active lifestyle, or have a busy family routine, the system is designed to integrate seamlessly into your day-to-day life.

That said, certain factors — such as excessive sweating, frequent swimming, or travel to very humid climates — may require some additional care or maintenance planning. During your consultation, we’ll ask about your routines and tailor our recommendations to ensure the system suits your lifestyle.

With the right care and a personalised approach, most clients find they can continue doing everything they enjoy without compromise.

System Design and Feel

How do non-surgical hair replacement systems differ from traditional wigs?

Our non-surgical hair systems are custom-integrated with your own hair and scalp for a natural look. Once professionally applied, they stay in place continuously, unlike a wig you put on and take off. You can shower, swim, exercise, or even sleep with it just like your natural hair. Our systems are very lightweight and breathable, so you won’t feel extra weight, and because we don’t rely on bulky adhesives, they won’t slip. The result is a comfortable, realistic style that’s far more discreet and natural-looking than an ordinary wig.

Is it necessary to have existing hair for the system to be effective?

No — you do not need any existing hair to use our system. For clients with no or very little hair, we first attach a soft, breathable base (using gentle medical tape or fine mesh) to the scalp. Then we secure your custom hairpiece to that base. Everything is done carefully to be comfortable and secure. As long as your scalp is healthy (no open wounds or active sores), we can fit the system so you can enjoy a full head of hair even with complete hair loss.

Is the system visible or noticeable to others?

When professionally fitted and styled, our systems are designed to be completely discreet and virtually undetectable, even to those in close proximity. Each system is tailored to match your hair colour, texture, and density, and is blended carefully with any remaining natural hair to ensure a seamless finish.

Unlike traditional wigs, which can sometimes appear bulky or artificial, our non-surgical systems are lightweight, breathable, and custom-fitted to your scalp for a natural appearance and feel. Many clients tell us that friends and colleagues simply assume they’ve had a new haircut or colour — not that they’re wearing a hair system at all.

Our goal is to restore not just your hair, but also your confidence, with a result that looks and feels like your own.

How does the system feel when worn—does it feel heavy or uncomfortable?

Not at all. Our systems are designed to be lightweight, breathable, and comfortable for everyday wear. Once fitted, most clients say the system feels like a natural part of them — secure but not restrictive, and light enough that they soon forget they’re even wearing it.

That said, some women may experience mild itchiness or slight sensitivity around the scalp or neck area during the first few days of wear. This is entirely normal and usually passes quickly as the skin adjusts. It’s helpful to be aware of this in advance, and our team is always on hand to offer advice or make adjustments if needed.

We place great importance on comfort, and our systems are carefully constructed to feel as light and unobtrusive as possible.

Will the system match my natural hair colour and texture?

Yes, your system will be individually colour-matched and textured to ensure it blends seamlessly with your existing hair — or, if you have no natural hair remaining, to replicate your preferred look as naturally as possible.

We have access to a wide range of shades, tones, and hair textures, including straight, wavy, and curly options. During your consultation, we’ll carefully assess your current hair (if applicable) or discuss your goals, and select a bespoke combination that achieves a realistic, flattering result.

The end goal is always the same: a system that looks and feels like your own hair.

Will the system blend seamlessly with my existing hair?

Yes, blending is one of the key advantages of a professionally fitted hair system. Whether you have thinning hair, patchy loss, or some areas of full coverage, the system is carefully colour-matched, textured, and styled to merge naturally with any existing hair.

During your consultation and fitting, we pay close attention to your hair’s tone, density, direction of growth, and movement — all of which contribute to a seamless finish. The result is a look that’s undetectable to others and completely natural in appearance.

Even at close range, most people will not be able to tell where your system ends and your natural hair begins.

Will the system affect the natural movement or feel of my hair?

No — in fact, one of the main benefits of a high-quality, professionally fitted system is that it mimics the natural movement and feel of real hair. Because we use human hair and tailor each system to your head shape, hair type, and desired style, the result is fluid, lightweight, and realistic.

Your system will move naturally when you walk, turn your head, or run your fingers through it. Most clients find that it feels like an extension of their own hair, rather than something separate or artificial.

The goal is always a look and feel that’s comfortable, convincing, and fully in tune with how you live your life.

Is the system detectable upon close inspection or touch?

When professionally fitted and maintained, the system is designed to be virtually undetectable — even upon close inspection or light touch. The hairline, parting, and overall structure are crafted to look and feel natural, and the materials used are soft, discreet, and skin-friendly.

Most clients find that even family members, friends, or colleagues are unaware they’re wearing a system unless they choose to disclose it. If someone touches your hair lightly — for example, in a hug — they are unlikely to notice anything unusual.

Our aim is always to give you confidence in how your hair looks and feels, no matter the setting.

Fitting and Customisation Process

What is the process for fitting a non-surgical hair replacement system?

The process begins with a private, one-to-one consultation where we assess your hair loss, examine your scalp condition, and discuss your goals, preferences, and lifestyle. This allows us to design a personalised solution that suits both your appearance and practical needs.

Once your system has been made, the fitting appointment involves securing the system to your scalp or existing hair using a non-surgical, non-invasive method. There is no shaving required, and the process is entirely pain-free. After application, the system is cut, shaped, and styled by a professional stylist to ensure it blends naturally and seamlessly.

You’ll leave your fitting with a fully integrated, natural-looking head of hair — and we’ll also guide you as to day-to-day care so you feel confident looking after your hair system at home.

How long does the fitting procedure typically take?

The fitting procedure usually takes around three to five hours, depending on the complexity of the system and the amount of styling involved. This includes securely attaching the system, blending it with any existing hair, and professionally cutting and styling it to suit your preferences.

We take the time needed to ensure every detail is just right — from placement and comfort to the final look and feel. While you won’t be rushed, we also understand the importance of your time and aim to make the process as smooth and efficient as possible.

You’ll leave the appointment with a finished result, ready to walk out and carry on with your day — no downtime required.

Is any part of the natural hair shaved or altered during application?

No, we do not shave or remove your natural hair as part of the fitting process. One of the key benefits of our non-surgical systems is that they are designed to work with your existing hair, whether you have thinning areas, patches of loss, or full coverage.

The system is applied using a gentle, non-invasive method that allows your own hair to remain completely intact underneath. In fact, many clients take comfort in knowing that their natural hair is preserved and can continue to grow while wearing the system.

Our approach is fully reversible and does not involve any permanent changes to your hair or scalp.

Can I choose different hairstyles or lengths with the system?

Yes, your hair system is fully customisable in terms of both hairstyle and length. Whether you’re looking to replicate your previous style or try something completely new, we’ll work with you to create a look that suits your face shape, lifestyle, and personal preferences.

From sleek bobs and soft layers to longer lengths or added volume, the system can be cut and styled just like natural hair. If your preferences change over time, the system can be restyled at future appointments, giving you flexibility and creative freedom.

It’s your hair — just the way you want it.

Is it possible to wear my hair up or in various styles?

Yes, most clients are able to wear their hair up in a range of styles, including ponytails, buns, and half-up looks — depending on the specific design and placement of the system.

During your fitting, we’ll take into account your preferred styling habits so that the system is positioned and cut in a way that supports versatile styling. While some high or tightly pulled styles may be limited by the system’s structure, many everyday looks are entirely achievable.

We’ll show you styling techniques and provide advice on what works best for your particular system, so you can feel confident and flexible with your hair day to day.

Can I colour or dye the hair in the system?

Yes, because we use real human hair in our systems, it is technically possible to colour or tone the hair — though we recommend doing so with care and under professional guidance.

In many cases, your system will already be custom-coloured to your preferences at the time of fitting. However, if you wish to adjust the tone or make a subtle change later on, this can often be done during a maintenance appointment.

We do advise against using box dyes or strong chemical treatments at home, as these can compromise the quality and lifespan of the hair. If you’re considering a colour change, speak to us first — we’ll let you know what’s possible and how to achieve it safely.

Can I use hair accessories or styling products with the system?

Yes, you can use a wide range of hair accessories and styling products with your system, just as you would with natural hair. This includes clips, bands, slides, headbands, and soft ties — all of which can help you style your hair for different occasions or simply keep it comfortably in place.

Styling products such as mousses, serums, and sprays are also fine to use, provided they are lightweight and free from heavy oils or harsh chemicals. We’ll recommend suitable products during your consultation or maintenance appointments to ensure you get the best results without compromising the condition of the system.

Feel free to style creatively — your system is designed to be as versatile as it is natural-looking.

How does the system handle environmental factors like wind or rain?

Our systems are designed to remain secure and natural-looking in everyday conditions, including wind, rain, and changes in humidity. The hair moves freely and naturally, just like your own, so it won’t appear stiff or artificial when exposed to the elements.

In windy weather, you may wish to tie the hair back or use light styling products for added control — much as you would with natural hair. In rain, the system will behave like normal human hair: it may become damp or lose some of its styling hold, but it will dry and recover in the usual way.

Most clients find they can carry on with their daily routines in all seasons without worry or special preparation.

What should I do if I experience discomfort or issues with the system?

If you experience any discomfort, irritation, or notice that the system feels loose or isn’t sitting quite right, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible. Minor issues can often be quickly resolved with a small adjustment, and it’s always better to address concerns early before they become more noticeable.

Your comfort is a priority, and we’re here to support you throughout your time wearing the system. Whether it’s a fit issue, styling concern, or simply a question about care, we’re happy to help.

Follow-up appointments can be booked promptly, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you quickly.

Daily Care and Lifestyle Compatibility

How often will I need maintenance appointments, and what do they involve?

Maintenance appointments are typically needed every four to six weeks, although this can vary depending on your natural hair growth, hair type, and lifestyle. These sessions are essential to keep your system looking and feeling its best over time.

During each appointment, we check the condition of your hair system and scalp, re-secure the system as needed, and make any necessary adjustments. This may include readjusting the fit, tightening, blending with your growing natural hair, and trimming or reshaping the style. If required, we also refresh and clean the system so you leave feeling renewed and confident.

These regular sessions help to maintain comfort, appearance, and long-term durability — and give you the chance to ask questions or update your style if you wish.

Can I wash and style the system as I would my natural hair?

Yes, you can wash and style your system much like you would your own natural hair. We use high-quality human hair in our systems, which means you can shampoo, condition, blow-dry, straighten, curl, and style it to suit your look and lifestyle.

That said, we do recommend using gentle, sulphate-free products and heat protection sprays to help prolong the life and condition of the system. During your fitting or maintenance visits, we’ll advise you on the most suitable products and styling techniques for home care.

With a little care and the right approach, you can enjoy full flexibility in styling — whether you prefer sleek, straight finishes or bouncy, voluminous looks.

Are there specific products recommended for care and maintenance?

Yes, we recommend specific products. Using the right products will help keep both the system and your natural hair in good condition, and can also extend the life of the system.

We’ll provide tailored recommendations based on your hair type, lifestyle, and the specifics of your system. You can also purchase salon-approved products directly from us for added peace of mind.

Avoiding harsh chemicals, alcohol-based sprays, and heavy oils is key to maintaining the appearance and performance of your hair system between appointments.

Can I use heat styling tools like hairdryers or straighteners on the system?

Yes, you can use heat styling tools such as hairdryers, straighteners, curling tongs, and hot brushes on your system — provided the system is made from human hair, which is the standard for all systems we provide.

To maintain the quality and longevity of the hair, we recommend using a heat protection spray and keeping heat settings moderate rather than extremely high. As with natural hair, frequent high-heat styling can lead to dryness or damage over time.

If you’re unsure about how best to style your system at home, we’re happy to offer guidance or demonstrate techniques during your appointment.

Consultation and Assessment

Is a consultation required before getting the system?

Yes, a consultation is an essential first step before we can fit a system. This private appointment allows us to assess your hair loss pattern, examine the condition of your scalp, and understand your goals, preferences, and lifestyle.

It also gives you the opportunity to ask questions, explore your options, and see examples of our work. The consultation ensures that we can recommend the most appropriate solution for your needs and confirm that your scalp is in a suitable condition for fitting.

Initial consultations with us are free of charge for new clients, and there is no obligation to proceed — it’s simply a chance to explore what’s possible in a supportive and informed setting.

What assessments are conducted during the initial consultation?

During your initial consultation, we carry out a visual assessment of your scalp and hair to understand the type, extent, and pattern of hair loss you’re experiencing. We’ll also check that your scalp is in a healthy condition — free from inflammation, infection, or unhealed skin — to ensure it’s suitable for fitting a system.

In addition to the physical assessment, we’ll take time to understand your personal goals, preferences, lifestyle, and any past experiences with hair loss or cosmetic solutions. If you have reference photos or a particular look in mind, we’ll discuss those too.

This consultation allows us to give honest, tailored advice and determine the best way forward — with comfort, realism, and discretion at the heart of everything we do.

Can I trial the system before committing to it long-term?

We don’t offer a “trial” system in the traditional sense, as each of our hair systems is individually made to measure and fully customised to your scalp, hair type, and desired look. However, the initial fitting itself is entirely non-surgical and reversible — meaning you are not locked into any long-term commitment.

If you choose to proceed, you’ll have the opportunity to see, feel, and wear your system from the very first fitting. Many clients find that experiencing the transformation in person gives them the confidence and clarity they need.

We’ll always take time to ensure you feel fully informed and comfortable before any decisions are made.

Can I get a detailed quote before proceeding?

Yes, absolutely. After your consultation — which is free of charge for new clients — we will provide a detailed, personalised quote based on your specific needs and preferences. This will include the cost of your system, fitting, and any relevant options or considerations.

We’ll also explain the likely cost of ongoing maintenance, so you have a clear understanding of the full picture before making any decisions. There is no obligation to proceed, and we’re happy to answer any questions you may have.

Our approach is always transparent, supportive, and free from pressure.

Pricing and Payment

What is the cost range for non-surgical hair replacement systems?

The cost of a non-surgical hair replacement system depends on factors such as the size of the area to be covered, the length and volume of hair required, and the level of customisation involved.

You can refer to our online price list for an indicative guide to typical pricing. Please note that this is intended as a general reference — exact costs may vary (higher or lower) depending on your individual requirements, which we’ll assess during your consultation.

We are always transparent about pricing and will provide a personalised quote before you make any commitment. Initial consultations are free of charge for new clients. We will ensure you understand the whole-life cost of your system, including the likely costs of maintenance over the longer term.

Are there financing or payment plans available?

We don’t currently offer financing or formal payment plans. However, we’re always listening to our clients, and if there’s demand for this kind of support, we may consider introducing it in the future.

If you feel that a payment plan would help make our service more accessible to you, please do let us know. Your feedback is valuable, and we’re committed to offering a service that works for the women who need it.

Does the cost include maintenance and follow-up appointments?

The cost of your initial system includes your consultation, full fitting, and personalised cut and styling. Ongoing maintenance appointments — which typically take place every four to six weeks — are charged separately.

This allows you to manage your care flexibly, based on your needs and preferences. Some clients choose to book maintenance on a regular schedule, while others come in as and when required.

We’ll explain all associated costs clearly during your consultation, including a breakdown of typical maintenance fees, so you have a full picture of what to expect.

Are there any hidden fees or additional charges I should be aware of?

No — we are committed to clear, transparent pricing. All costs will be discussed with you in full during your consultation, including the price of your system, fitting, styling, and the rates for future maintenance sessions.

We don’t believe in hidden fees or unexpected charges. If any optional extras are available — such as additional styling services or product purchases — these will always be explained clearly so you can make an informed decision.

Our goal is to ensure you feel confident and fully informed every step of the way.

Is the system covered by insurance or eligible for NHS funding?

In most cases, non-surgical hair replacement systems are considered cosmetic and are not covered by standard private health insurance or the NHS. However, in rare circumstances — such as medically diagnosed hair loss resulting from certain treatments — limited support may be available through charitable grants or discretionary NHS programmes.

We recommend speaking directly with your GP, medical consultant, or insurer to find out whether any funding options apply in your specific situation. While we do not process insurance claims ourselves, we are happy to provide documentation to support any application you wish to make.

If funding is a concern, please let us know during your consultation so we can discuss your options openly and sensitively.

Do you offer any guarantees or warranties with the system?

We stand by the quality of our work and the materials we use. While hair systems are not covered by a formal manufacturer’s warranty in the same way as electrical goods, we are always here to support you if you experience any issues with fit, comfort, or early wear after your system is applied.

If you have concerns in the weeks following your fitting, we encourage you to get in touch — many small adjustments can be made quickly and easily. Our goal is for every client to feel confident and satisfied with their result.

We’ll also give you clear guidance on how to care for your system to help maximise its condition and longevity.

What is your refund or cancellation policy?

Because each hair system is made to measure and individually customised, we are unable to offer refunds once production of your system has begun. However, you are under no obligation to proceed following your consultation, and we will only move forward with your order once you’ve confirmed you’re ready.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a fitting or maintenance appointment, we ask that you give us as much notice as possible so we can offer the slot to another client. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee, depending on the circumstances.

Are there discounts for referrals or repeat clients?

From time to time, we may offer referral benefits or loyalty rewards as a thank-you to returning clients or those who introduce friends or family to our service. These offers are not guaranteed and may vary depending on availability and promotion periods.

Any discounts or promotions currently available will always be published on our website, so you can check there for the most up-to-date information.

If you’ve been referred by someone, or if you’d like to refer someone else, please let us know — we’ll be happy to advise whether any offers apply at the time.

Aftercare, Support, and Follow-Up

Can these systems be used in conjunction with medical treatments like chemotherapy?

Yes, our systems can be used alongside medical treatments such as chemotherapy. In fact, many of our clients come to us during or following cancer treatment, seeking a natural-looking solution to help restore their appearance and confidence during recovery.

However, the timing of fitting is important. We would not fit a system during periods when the scalp is highly sensitive, irritated, or compromised — which can occur during active chemotherapy or shortly after. In these cases, we recommend allowing the scalp to settle and recover before proceeding.

We offer private consultations to assess the condition of your scalp, discuss timing in relation to treatment, and explore the best options for your individual circumstances — always with care and sensitivity.

What aftercare services do you provide post-application?

We offer ongoing aftercare to ensure your hair system continues to look and feel its best. This includes regular maintenance appointments, adjustments as your natural hair grows, and professional styling to keep the system fresh and blended.

We’re also here to provide advice on day-to-day care, recommended products, and how to manage your system between visits. If you ever experience discomfort or have questions after your fitting, you’re welcome to get in touch — we’ll support you with prompt, practical help.

Our commitment to aftercare is part of what sets us apart. We don’t just fit your system — we’re with you for the journey.

Is there support available if I have questions or concerns?

Yes — support and advice are always available if you have questions, concerns, or simply need reassurance. Whether it’s shortly after your fitting or further down the line, you’re welcome to get in touch at any time.

We understand that choosing and wearing a hair system can feel like a big step, and it’s important to know you’re not on your own. From care tips to comfort concerns, we’ll provide clear, practical guidance whenever you need it.

Your confidence and peace of mind matter to us — both at the beginning and throughout your time with us.

How do I schedule maintenance or follow-up appointments?

Scheduling maintenance or follow-up appointments is easy. You can contact us directly by phone, email, or through the enquiry form on our website. We’ll find a time that works for you and ensure your visit is booked in promptly.

Many clients choose to arrange their next appointment before leaving the salon, helping to keep their maintenance routine consistent. However, you’re always welcome to reach out later if you prefer to book as and when needed.

We’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule and keep the process straightforward and flexible.

Are there educational resources or guides for system care?

Yes, we provide guidance on how to care for your hair system as part of your fitting and aftercare. This includes advice on washing, styling, sleeping with your system, and which products to use (or avoid). We aim to make sure you leave feeling confident in how to look after your hair at home.

While we do not currently offer printed guides or videos, we’re always happy to go over care routines with you in person or by phone if you ever need a refresher.

Our focus is on giving you practical, personalised support — so you know exactly how to keep your system looking its best between appointments.

Can I contact you for emergency adjustments or repairs?

If you experience an issue with your system — such as it feeling loose, uncomfortable, or becoming damaged — we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible. While we don’t operate an out-of-hours emergency service, we will always do our best to offer you a prompt appointment at the earliest available time.

Minor adjustments or repairs can often be resolved quickly, and addressing problems early helps prevent further discomfort or disruption. We understand how important your system is to your daily confidence, and we’re here to help when something isn’t quite right.

Do you offer support groups or communities for clients?

We don’t currently run formal support groups or online communities, but we understand how valuable it can be to connect with others who are going through a similar experience. While every woman’s journey with hair loss is personal, you’re certainly not alone — and many of our clients find comfort in knowing that.

We always offer a private, understanding space to talk things through one-to-one. If peer support is something you’d find helpful, do let us know — we’re open to exploring ways to create that sense of community in the future (but would only ever do so in a way that ensures our clients’ privacy and confidentiality is fully protected, in line with their wishes and preferences).

Is there a helpline or chat service available for immediate assistance?

We don’t operate a live helpline or web chat at this time, but you’re always welcome to contact us by phone, email, or WhatsApp with any questions or concerns. We aim to respond as promptly as possible during working hours and are happy to assist whether your enquiry is quick or more detailed.

If you need to arrange an appointment or follow up on anything related to your system, simply reach out — we’re here to help.

What should I do if I experience an allergic reaction or irritation?

If you experience any unusual irritation, redness, or sensitivity after your system is fitted, please contact us as soon as possible. Mild itchiness in the first few days is not uncommon, especially around the scalp or neck area, but anything that feels persistent or uncomfortable should be checked.

We’ll assess the issue and advise on the best course of action — whether that’s making an adjustment, switching products, or pausing wear to allow your skin to settle. Your comfort and safety come first, and we’ll work with you to resolve any concerns quickly and sensitively.

If you believe you’re having a significant allergic reaction, we recommend seeking medical advice without delay.

Managing Social and Emotional Aspects

How do I explain the change in my hair appearance to others?

That’s entirely up to you. Some clients choose to be open about their hair system and share their experience with friends or family, while others prefer to keep it private. There’s no right or wrong approach — it’s whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

If you’re concerned about how to handle the change, we can talk through some options during your consultation. Many clients find that simply framing it as a new haircut, colour, or personal style choice is enough. Because the system looks so natural, most people won’t suspect anything beyond a routine style refresh.

The decision is yours, and we’re here to support you either way.
